Do I need my bin cleaned ?

The simple answer to this is YES. Not only does a dirty bin cause offensive smells but any waste food left in the bin between the two weekly collections will start to rot which can lead to a build up of bacteria's , these include Listeria, salmonella, and ecoli, all of which are responsible for outbreaks of food poisoning in this country. Therefore rapidly becoming a health hazard right outside your home. Other unwelcome visitors to your bins include maggots, flies, wasps and even rats. Did you know there are 60 million rats in the country? Having your bin cleaned and deodorised regularly helps prevents the build up of these harmful bacteria's and odours.

No matter how careful you are, once your bin has been handled along with everyone else's and has been lifted and empted into the waste truck you get cross contamination with other bins. Therefore having your bin cleaned once it has been emptied will help eliminate this problem.
